In the beautiful Apokoronas of Chania region, known for its natural beauty, and specifically in the village of Selia at an altitude of 400m next to a spectacular forest, we have restored a traditional mansion of the 18th century by using strictly traditional materials such as stone and wood. We have created 4 apartments, keeping unchanged all the traditional details and character of the old mansion.



Within the mansion you can enjoy the Cretan hospitality of the Sapounakis family and you also have the opportunity to taste the unique wines that are being produced by the family for generations now, from its own vineyards, mixing the many years of experience in wine making, with the modern techniques.



The mansion is operational 12 months of the year and visitors can easily also visit Chania that are located 30km away, Rethymnon which is only 25km away, the beach of Georgioupoli 6 km away, the beach of Almyrida 9 km, the historical village Vamos 6 km, the natural reserve of lake Kourna 8km, as well as many other sites in the area that its known for its originality and beauty.



In the months of September and October you can participate if you wish, to the harvesting, wine making and raki making with our family, learn how we produce our products and taste our products.

ROUTES



Douliana village

Douliana is 2 km from Vamos towards Kalives, a traditionally protected village with hidden corners and peaceful nature. Here begins a very nice footpath which in old times connected Douliana with Gavalochori, which passes through a small gorge, a forest, and the spectacular chapel of Agios Gianis (St. John), build inside a cave. The village is in 300 meters altimeter above sea level, with 40 houses in total, population 200 people. It has a cosy square with one local cafe and a snack corner, min market and a very nice tavern. You will feel welcome in any corner of the village!



Paleloni - Kefalas villages

Paleloni is a small neighborhood of Village Kefalas, with 15 houses. Kefalas is situated at the northeast of Vamos, 5 km far, located on a hill with a great sea view. It is a wonderful traditional village with a rich preservation of local architecture and impressive old village churches. The village is in 500 meters altimeter above sea level, population 700 people. In Kefalas there is grocery store, super market, cafe, tavern, and moreover, the Ombrosgialos bay with the colourful sea ideal for snorkelling or a dive and a nice tavern is only 2 km far.



Selia village

Selia is small village 5 km far from Vamos and 3 km from Kefalas. It is located in a very rich forest area, in 400 meters altimeter above sea level. You can still see beautiful ruins of previous centuries, a village school, a church of the early 18th century and enjoy the peaceful nature and walks in the nearby villages. Here is located the gallery of Allan Tazzyman, an English painter who lives in the village and has contributed a lot not only in the promotion of the area with his beautiful paintings, but also in its protection from the uncontrolled development.



Nipos village

Nipos is located in one of the most "virgin" areas of Apokoronas, with green nature, next to the Lefka Ori (White Mountains), with a beautiful village square and lots of nice Cretan taverns. The village Nipos is located 8 km from Vamos and 2 km far form Vrisses, in 700 meters altimeter above sea level and 300 inhabitants. In Nipos there is a local cafe in the village square, while in village tavern 'Apokoronas' you will enjoy the amazing local dishes. In the village Vrisses (1 km far from the villas Zonera, and 2 km from Nipos) you will find S/M, bakery, bank, taverns and cafes. The nearest beach is Georgioypolis in 5km.



Tsivaras village

Tsivaras is a small village just between Vamos and Kalives. It is built in a hill 700 meters altimeter above sea level, with a beautiful sea and olive groves view. The village has a small cafe and a mini market but you will find more shops and other services in Kalives 3km far (s/m, cafe, restaurants, shops and others) or Vamos, also 3km far.
