La Grande Aulnaie - Douville sur Andelle

Framed by Fontaine-Guérard Abbey (XII century) and the fascinating ruines of a neogothic factory called «Filature Levavasseur» (XIX century), The Grande Aulnaie offers you 4 cozy and spacious rooms inside a 3,6 hectares property, carefully maniteined, coloured and flowered at every season, adorned by a river and a little pond, and extended by 110 hectares of private forest.







Our 4 rooms are painted in light colours and are spacious (from 15 to 17m2); everyone has a nice view, a double bed (1,60 m x 1,90 m) or, on demand, two single beds (0,80 m x 1,90 m).







Besides our rooms, our guests can benefit of big spaces: at the ground floor a big living room with TV (60 m2) extended by an external balcony of about 200 m2; at second floor, a large attic (56m2), billiards, bridge table, desk or reading, stereo, high quality digital piano, panoramic view over the Andelle valley. Optical Premium (Leica binoculars and spotting scope Swarovski) are available thanks to the donation of birdwatchers.







Outside, we benefit of tne exceptional site that is Fontaine-Guérdard Abbey (XII century) and of the fascinating ruins of the neogothic spinning Lavasseur (XIX century).







The mill that hosts our B&B is part of a little hamlet where there is our home, a pavilion and a caretaker's house. This hamlet is in the middle of a big and well kept garden (3ha 60a), that offers a different succession of colours during the seasons, interesting even during the winter. It is crossed by the river, enhanced by a little pond and a creek, framed by the abbey at east, the spinning at west, the Longboel forest at north and finally by the valley at south.







The Garden is extended by 110 hectares of the very next private forest (Fontaine-Guérard wood and Bonnemare wood). Garden and forest are what we take care most. The forest is accessible through well maintained paths. Rising throughout the forest, over the property, you are going to see a magnific view with the spinning below. You can also visit the stone quarries used for the Abbey, where there are still large blocks of it.







The Grand Aulnaie is served by a low circulation road. Wide view over the valley and distant. Absolute quiet except for the whispering of the wind in the trees and singing birds.

The price for a room occupied by one or twxo people is normally 70 € incl per night, breakfast included, except for the two following cases:



• Saturday night only, the price is 80 €.



• For a group or a family willing to take the 4 rooms for two nights at least, the price of every room is 60 € per night.







The reservation comes to be definitive after receveing a deposit of 30% with a minimim of 60 €.







We can serve excellent food, simple or refined according to your demand, for minimum 8 people. Agreements on this subject have to be discussed or agreed in advance.







Fontaine-Guérard, crossed by the waters, is not accessible to children unless under costant control of their parents.







We do not accept pets.
